Deluxe Smiths A452 Everest pattern explorers model wristwatch c1958. One of the series of watches marketed as part of the then Everest range of wristwatches before Smiths signed Everest on the dial. Note that the earlier Smiths had an all red hand which was later substituted by the trademark red tipped ones. Chromed brass top with a steel screw in back, retaining all original parts apart from the crystal and strap. The 16mm strap in the picture is a vegetable tanned leather ZRC cowhide one which is lightly padded and will soften easily with use however it has since been changed to an Omega style strap. The case diameter is about 33mm. The thickness is 11.3mm. Engraved to the rear. The dial detail looks crisper in reality than the picture shows. fully overhauled and in a presentation package. Dial has a photographic shadow in the centre which is not present on the watch.
