Submarines are typically 'rigged for red' to allow periscope use at night, dusk, and dawn without interference from bright lights in the control room. This red lighting helps operators avoid the adjustment period to night conditions, crucial when a submarine is most vulnerable at periscope depth. These watches were specifically ordered by submarine crews for this purpose.
Both models are built to be exceptionally robust, featuring shatter and scratch-resistant sapphire crystals for enhanced durability.
